at Wyoming's First Charter School, 2008-09
The Snowy Range Academy, a charter school entering its sixth year of operation, follows the Core Knowledge curriculum, augmented by Spalding Method Language Arts (phonics-based instruction) and Accelerated Saxon Math methods. Current enrollment is 140 students in grades K-7. Laramie is home to the University of Wyoming (student population of 11,000); it is a cozy but cosmopolitan community of 28,000, situated in close proximity to exceptional Front Range recreational amenities. The Snowy Range Academy and the Albany County School District #1, within which SRA is located, are committed to and guided by the principle of equal opportunity.
POSSIBLE OPENINGS: All teaching positions for the 2008-09 academic year have been filled.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Core Knowledge Curriculum and Spalding Phonics desired. Successful candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with an "elementary" or "middle school" teaching endorsement. Evidence of performance and professional philosophy in accord with the Snowy Range Academy's mission statement is essential (see website and application form for criteria).
